Works

  • The Old Testament works of the Law were according to the sacrificial system instituted by God through Moses, to remind Israel of their sins.  In the New Testament, the apostle Paul taught them how these “works of the Law” were removed and replaced by the faith of Jesus Christ, and that the just were to live by faith.
  • We are to let our light shine by our good works which glorify our heavenly Father.
  • The Bible instructs us to bring forth works appropriate for repentance.
  • That we are not saved by works, only justified by works coupled with faith.
  • We are admonished to purge our conscience from dead works to serve the living God, that we might receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.
  • The Bible shows us that we are rewarded according to our works, not saved by our works.
  • God’s people are to fulfill all the good pleasure of God’s goodness and the work of faith with power.
  • We are to be doers of the work, not forgetful hearers only.
  • We are judged according to our works.
