Laying on of hands

  • The Bible shows that through the laying on of the hands of the ministry, the church receive God’s miraculous intervention by healing through faith.
  • The laying on of hands was practiced in the Old Covenant by God’s priesthood, as well as throughout the New Testament ministry.
  • The laying on of hands in the baptism ceremony, facilitates the conveying of God’s Holy Spirit.
  • The Bible instructs His people when they are sick to call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over them. During this prayer, the elder anoints them with oil and lays hands on them, seeking healing from God in prayer.
  • The church today follows the biblical tradition as instituted by God in laying on hands to ordain into the ministry.
  • God used the laying on of hands by His servants for a variety of God given roles, including, healing, ordaining into office, and begettal of the Holy Spirit.
